Operations Manager – Manufacturing & Supply Chain

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and WHS functions for a well‑established Australian manufacturer. Reporting to the General Manager – Manufacturing & Supply Chain, you will drive safety, quality, delivery, cost and people performance while embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end leadership across Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance and WHS.
• Drive operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost and people metrics.
• Develop and coach frontline leaders, fostering a high‑engagement, accountable culture.
• Embed Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies site‑wide.
• Strengthen engineering and maintenance capability, improving planning, reliability and long‑term asset performance.
• Lead operational planning, budgeting and performance reporting to support business outcomes.
• Champion a visible, shop‑floor leadership style that builds future leadership capability.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a Site Manager, Operations Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role.
• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related discipline (preferred).
• Proven track record of driving operational improvement and cultural change in complex industrial or FMCG environments.
• Strong leadership with experience coaching frontline managers.
• Financial and commercial acumen, including managing operational budgets.
• Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, building products, chemicals, packaging or similar sectors; unionised environment exposure is a plus.
