Operations Manager - Manufacturing Sites, Western Sydney

About the role

A global leader in industrial manufacturing, with operations across Australia and the world, is hiring an Operations Manager / Site Manager for one of its key Australian locations in Western Sydney. The role leads and optimises the end-to-end operations of two manufacturing sites and is accountable for operational excellence across safety, quality, cost, productivity, people leadership and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and optimise the operations of two manufacturing sites
• Deliver operational excellence across safety, quality, cost, productivity, people leadership and continuous improvement
• Drive business performance through effective leadership of site teams and a positive workplace culture
• Maintain strong union relationships
• Ensure manufacturing operations align with organisational objectives

Required profile

• 10 years of work experience plus relevant tertiary qualifications
• Strong familiarity with Lean principles, including 5S or other operational improvement methodologies, with a history of driving efficiency and process optimisation
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop them, with excellent communication skills across levels
• Expertise in managing and controlling budgets, implementing cost-saving initiatives and achieving financial targets across sites
• Skilled in building constructive relationships with union representatives
• Solid track record of continuous improvement and increased operational efficiency across the supply chain
• Strategic thinking, innovation and flexibility to adapt to changing environments
