Operations Manager - Aerial Application

About the role

An established aerial application business based in Moree, NSW is looking for a highly motivated, organised and proactive Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership position covering operations management, customer engagement, team leadership, safety and compliance, working closely with the Chief Pilot and senior management. The role suits someone who leads from the front and works collaboratively.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients to understand current and future operational needs, maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction
• Plan, coordinate and schedule aerial application jobs with the Chief Pilot and operations team so services are delivered safely, efficiently and on time
• Support pilot and mixer briefings, including job requirements and hazard information
• Monitor weather conditions and communicate operational updates
• Assist with aircraft loading and remote airstrip logistics
• Help the Chief Pilot and Managing Director with business development
• Recruit, roster and train the ground crew (mixers)
• Manage ordering and logistics through suppliers, including fuel and consumables
• Maintain stock levels and inventory records, including chemical usage monitoring, and liaise with chemical suppliers
• Manage and maintain ground equipment and assets
• Manage OHS and compliance obligations
• Operate a forklift safely when required

Required profile

• Experience in administration, operations, logistics, aviation, agriculture or a similar field
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills, with a high attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and a commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Practical, solutions-focused approach with mechanical aptitude
• Forklift licence desirable
