Open‑rank Computer Science Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor

About the role

Macquarie University is seeking an outstanding academic to join its School of Computing on an open‑rank appointment. The successful candidate will be appointed at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications, experience and leadership profile.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality, impactful research in one or more areas of Computer Science.
• Develop, teach and convene undergraduate and postgraduate units.
• Supervise Higher Degree Research students and mentor early‑career researchers.
• Build research collaborations with academia, industry, government and other external partners.
• Attract external research funding and engage with industry and government stakeholders.
• Contribute to academic leadership, curriculum development and service within the School, Faculty and University.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computing or a closely related discipline.
• Strong, coherent research programme with a high‑quality publication record appropriate to career stage.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver innovative teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
• Evidence of ability to supervise (or potential to supervise) Higher Degree Research students.
• Track record of developing research collaborations and attracting external funding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and a commitment to an inclusive academic environment.

• Salary package ranging from $127,138 to $205,067 per annum plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.
