OOSH Educator / Responsible Person - Maitland and Cessnock

About the role

St Nicholas is looking for OOSH Assistants and Educators who are also willing to act as Responsible Persons to join its teams across the Maitland and Cessnock regions. The work covers before and after school programs and vacation care programs, in Maitland, Cessnock, Abermain and Branxton, on a permanent part-time basis. Afternoon shifts at least twice a week are required.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children's play, ensuring their physical safety while promoting and guiding positive behaviour
• Help develop and implement programs that support children's independence, social skills, learning and development

Required profile

• Certificate III in Children's Services or Certificate IV in School Age Education, as identified by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority, or be studying towards an early childhood or primary teaching qualification
• Working with Children Check verification number
• Current First Aid certificate; Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training desirable
• Food Handler Basics training desirable
• Experience in an OOSH service desirable

Required skills

• Computer literacy to document learning stories
