Occupational Therapy Senior RAID

About the role

West Moreton Health is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist for a Senior RAID position in the Brisbane - West, Ipswich region. The role sits at the front line of patient flow and admission avoidance, working across the Rapid Assessment Intervention and Discharge (RAID), Flow Improvement Services Medicine (FISM) and Transit Care Coordination (TCC) models. It involves advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention in the Emergency Department and acute medical services, with close collaboration with the OT Department at Ipswich Hospital, particularly the general medical wards and Emergency Department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention in the Emergency Department and acute medical services
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to identify barriers to discharge and facilitate safe transitions of care
• Contribute to improved patient flow and reduced hospital length of stay
• Monitor and report clinical work practices and outcomes to support continuous local service improvement

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Vaccinated against, and remaining vaccinated against, vaccine-preventable diseases as required by the Health Employment Directive
• High level of knowledge and skills in occupational therapy services, with the ability to independently manage a clinical caseload
• Strong clinical reasoning and discharge planning skills, able to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment
