Occupational Therapist – Adult Mental Health Caseload

About the role

Join Ability Action Australia’s South Perth team as an Occupational Therapist focused on adult mental health. You will support participants with complex psychosocial needs, helping them build independence and confidence within their communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a flexible caseload aligned with your interests and strengths.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments covering emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental, and physical functions.
• Develop individualized, evidence‑based therapy goals and interventions.
• Provide environmental modification advice for homes, schools, workplaces and residential settings.
• Recommend and facilitate Assistive Technology to promote independence.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and ensure compliance with NDIS legislation and guidelines.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Client‑centred mindset with a proactive, innovative approach.
• Genuine passion for the disability and community sector.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and intervention planning.
• Knowledge of NDIS guidelines and legislation.
• Experience with environmental modifications and assistive technology.
