Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar – Regional South Australia

About the role

This full‑time position offers an ambitious Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar the chance to work in a high‑volume birth suite and a busy gynae surgery service within a regional teaching hospital. You will receive structured, consultant‑led teaching while enjoying a coastal lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage low‑ to high‑risk obstetric cases in a high‑throughput birth suite.
• Participate in complex maternal‑medicine, pre‑term care and multidisciplinary birth planning.
• Provide emergency gynae services and respond to varied acute presentations.
• Assist in regular theatre lists, including general gynae, minimally invasive procedures and women’s surgical care.
• Collaborate with Neonatology, Anaesthetics, Maternal Medicine, Oncology, Mental Health and Allied Health teams.
• Engage in audit, quality‑improvement projects, teaching sessions and clinical case discussions.

Required profile

• AHPRA General Registration or eligibility for Limited Registration (Level 3+).
• Prior O&G clinical experience (RMO/Registrar or relevant rotations).
• Strong passion for women’s health, obstetrics and surgical skill development.
• Team‑oriented, motivated and committed to clinical excellence and training progression.

Required skills

• Obstetric emergency management.

• Surgical assisting and procedural competence.
