Nurse Unit Manager - Prague House

About the role

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) leads the safe, effective and efficient operation of Prague House, a residential aged care facility in Kew, and provides operational and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team. The role reports to the Operations Manager of Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) and ensures high-quality, resident-focused, consumer-directed care that supports optimal health, wellbeing and quality of life outcomes. It is a permanent, full-time position classified as NM11.

Key responsibilities

• Create a positive, supportive workplace culture and develop multidisciplinary staff, building capability, accountability and engagement
• Drive service excellence and continuous improvement using data, resident feedback and best practice
• Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare providers and community partners so care is coordinated and person-centred
• Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation, professional practice requirements and SVHM policies and procedures
• Work with senior leadership and clinical teams to maintain excellence in nursing and aged care practice

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) worker screening check and national police check, or willingness to obtain them
• Post-graduate diploma or higher in gerontology or another relevant field, or equivalent (desirable)
