Nurse Unit Manager - Aged Care, Warracknabeal

About the role

Rural Northwest Health is looking for an experienced and dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Yarriambiack Lodge residential aged care facility at its Warracknabeal campus. The campus is one of three, offering acute, urgent care, aged care, community health and allied services, and is about halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne. The unit manager leads by example, using strong professional, clinical and people management skills so that the care team delivers safe, high-quality clinical care to residents in line with aged care guidelines.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate training or education in aged care, acute medical or emergency nursing.
• Relevant postgraduate education in leadership and management, or plans to undertake it.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team delivering safe, person-centred care.
• Knowledge of key guidelines such as the Safe Patient Care Act, Code Grey requirements and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
• Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to develop and manage rosters and workforce needs, and adapt to competing demands.
• Annual flu vaccination.
• Current police clearance, Working with Children Check and NDIS check, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
