NPD Project Manager - FMCG Food

About the role

An Australian FMCG food brand, which sells its products in major supermarkets, QSRs and local specialty outlets, is looking for an NPD Project Manager to run new product development projects across retail and QSR channels from concept to launch. The role is on site five days a week, with flexible start and finish times.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project activities so that all projects are delivered on time
• Manage stakeholders across internal departments such as brand, sales, finance and production, bringing cross-functional input into innovation projects
• Lead NPD project team meetings and give clear communication on all aspects of the project
• Support the sales, marketing and production teams with project implementation
• Make sure all new product briefs are scoped and gate-ready for monthly approval through the gate stage process
• Provide weekly status reports on all projects
• Maintain innovation systems and processes, and identify and recommend continuous improvements
• Contribute to innovation pipelines across all categories

Required profile

• 1-2 years of FMCG food experience; currently an Assistant Brand or Product Manager or New Product Development Manager
• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline
• Ability to plan and organise multiple projects, understand NPD timelines and the stage-gate process
• Attention to detail, independent and team player with strong prioritisation and problem-solving
• Confident communicator and strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
