Northern Region Underwriting Manager, Accident & Health

About the role

The Northern Region Underwriting Manager will lead Accident & Health underwriting across the region, driving growth, managing a team of underwriters and ensuring compliance with Arch’s policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal A&H business within delegated authority and achieve planned underwriting results.
• Lead, coach and manage the regional A&H underwriting team, overseeing performance, recruitment and development.
• Develop and execute the region’s growth and distribution strategies, including product development and broker relationships.
• Provide monthly reporting, monitor claims activity and coordinate reinsurance actions.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in the Australian/New Zealand Accident & Health insurance market.
• Strong network of broker/client relationships and proven portfolio management capability.
• Demonstrated people‑management experience with the ability to set goals, give feedback and conduct performance reviews.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Technical and analytical skills, including reading and analysing financial statements.
