Night Shift Maintenance Technician

About the role

Amazon is hiring multiple permanent night-shift Maintenance Technicians for its Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at its new site in Horsley Park, Sydney. You will keep the site running safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging and distribution machinery, responding to breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance and implementing improvements that reduce downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Complete proactive and preventative maintenance on site equipment
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults in a live warehouse environment
• Implement long-term solutions to reduce future downtime
• Use specialised tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
• Follow and promote Health & Safety standards

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical trade licence, or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (fitter/turner); alternatively equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
• Experience fault-finding in material handling equipment and automation systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
• Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers and inverters
• Experience working to health and safety standards and regulations

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with CMMS systems
• Preferred: experience with sortation machines, bar code scanner maintenance and configuration, and print and apply machines

The roster is 4 days with 10-hour shifts, and the roles carry annual leave entitlement and penalty rates where applicable.
