Network Planning Leader – ANZ Energy

About the role

Lead AECOM's Network Planning capability across Australia and New Zealand, shaping the future electricity networks for utilities, developers and government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with major utilities, network operators and renewable developers on strategic planning initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for transmission and distribution planning, power system studies and grid integration projects.
• Shape long‑term network investment strategies that support decarbonisation and energy security.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex power‑system and network‑planning projects.
• Build and strengthen trusted client relationships across key energy markets.
• Mentor technical leaders and develop capability across the wider Energy business.

Required profile

• Significant experience in power systems, transmission and distribution planning, network strategy or grid integration.
• Strong understanding of electricity networks, energy markets and the energy transition.
• Experience working with utilities, regulators, renewable developers or major infrastructure clients.
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering large‑scale technical projects.
• Commercial acumen with ability to identify and grow strategic client opportunities.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management skills.
