National Business Manager – Independent Grocery

About the role

Bega is looking for a National Business Manager to join its Independent Grocery team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting nationally to the Head of Independent Grocery, you will drive growth of key warehouse categories such as yoghurt, spreads, juice and cheese across the independent grocery network through a strategic partnership with Metcash. You will own the Metcash Warehouse Joint Business Plan, lead customer growth strategies and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer decision-makers at state and regional levels
• Own and execute Joint Business Plans, promotional strategies and commercial performance initiatives with Metcash
• Deliver in-store outcomes through trade investment, planogram optimisation and secondary display opportunities
• Work closely with field teams so that promotions, merchandising standards and sales initiatives are communicated and executed well
• Lead, coach and develop a team of four direct reports, including National Account Managers and Assistant Business Managers, and drive forecasting, performance tracking and gap closure

Required profile

• Proven FMCG sales and account management experience, ideally in grocery, with a strong track record of commercial results
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing trade investment, forecasting and business performance
• Experience leading and developing teams at state or national level
• Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline or equivalent sales leadership experience
