About the role

The National Assistant Accountant will support COX's National Finance Department across a range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, cash management, and supplier payments.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and year‑end accounts, BAS and FBT returns, and reconcile profit & loss and balance‑sheet accounts.
  • Process fortnightly supplier payments, manage EFT, BPAY and international payments, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, review capital purchases and conduct year‑end asset reconciliations.
  • Handle accounts payable invoices, ensure GST compliance, and manage supplier set‑up and verification.

Required profile

  • 1‑3 years of experience in accounting roles.
  • Strong reconciliation abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

  • Deltek VantagePoint or similar ERP system (preferred).
  • Power BI familiarity (preferred).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
