Multi Combination Driver

About the role

Strait Link, a sea freight operator linking Port Melbourne and Port Burnie, is looking for an experienced Multi Combination Driver for its busy depot in Burnie. The position covers all aspects of Road Transport Rules and Regulations in a competent, safe and law-abiding way, within an efficient and service-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive multi-combination vehicles according to Road Transport Rules and Regulations
• Complete local cartage jobs as delegated by the supervisor
• Assist as a forklift operator when necessary
• Work the majority of day and night shifts, including some weekends

Required profile

• Minimum Year 10 secondary education (Year 12 preferred)
• Class HC vehicle licence (MC essential)
• Forklift licence
• Proven delivery and freight experience
• Entitlement to work in Australia and willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including a criminal history check and medical assessment

Required skills

• Full knowledge of federal and state road regulations, including load restraint and fatigue management
• Basic knowledge of computer systems
• Numeracy and literacy
• Strong customer service focus and good written and verbal communication
• Ability to work safely, without direct supervision, and physically fit for manual handling
