MQ-28 Operator Instructor

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an Operator Instructor for the MQ-28 Ghost Bat team. You will design, deliver and assess training across simulated, virtual and live flight environments, shaping the training ecosystem for a cutting‑edge autonomous aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Create world‑class operator courseware, including digital computer‑aided learning and advanced simulation packages.
• Prepare, conduct and debrief virtual and live flight sorties to ensure mission readiness.
• Lead rigorous competency assessments to maintain high qualification standards.
• Provide SME input during test, development and Introduction Into Service activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 1,500 hours PIC flight experience.
• B CAT or Commercial Pilot Licence equivalent with Command Instrument Rating or IREX.
• Military QFI or Grade 1 Instructor rating.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CASA Class 2 medical.
• Australian citizenship and willingness to undergo security vetting.

Required skills

• Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) – highly desirable.
• Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Articulate.
• Strong analytical ability to translate technical requirements into training solutions.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, dynamic development environment.
