Mobile Engineering Lead - React Native

About the role

Talent Aligned is partnering with a fast-growing Australian engineering start-up that designs and manufactures complex instrumentation and monitoring equipment used in remote and harsh environments. The company has over 30,000 sensors in the field and 10,000 active customers worldwide, and is expanding its operations in Australia and America. It is looking for a proactive, autonomous React Native developer to take ownership of its mobile applications end to end, modernise the mobile web experience, add native functionality and enable Bluetooth connectivity between the apps and physical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the company's mobile application suite, moving the existing mobile web app into a richer native experience.
• Build and integrate native features such as Face ID, fingerprint login, custom splash screens and in-app notifications.
• Work with different connectivity options (Bluetooth, satellite, 4G, etc.).
• Manage end-to-end deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Advise internal teams, including embedded software and hardware teams, on connectivity and functionality.
• Contribute to new customer-facing web store initiatives when mobile development cycles allow.

Required profile

• A self-starter who takes ownership and does not wait for instructions.
• Strong commercial experience developing and deploying mobile apps with React Native.
• Proven experience independently managing app store releases, including loading, publishing and following store guidelines.
• A background in a start-up or consultancy environment is highly regarded.
• Experience or strong interest in connecting mobile apps to physical hardware is a bonus.

What we offer

• Join a company in exceptional growth, working on real-world problems solved with physical hardware.
• Four days in the office, working with a passionate engineering team.
• Catered team lunches during the week.
