Mining Operator – Balranald Site

About the role

This permanent, site‑based position offers a unique chance to join Iluka Resources at its Balranald operation, where new underground mining technology is being ramped up. You will be instrumental in integrating novel equipment and processes into daily production, helping to drive efficiency and safety in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular plant inspections, complete check sheets and perform risk and hazard assessments.
• Monitor plant performance, identify abnormalities and take corrective action to maintain optimal operation.
• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures and safe work instructions.
• Fill and load reagent apparatus as required and sample process streams, reporting any production variances.
• Carry out dewatering activities and manage fine tailings injection infrastructure, including dredge operation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a mining or processing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with teams.
• Desirable licences: front‑end loader, skid steer, forklift, elevated work platform (EWP).
• Valid C Class driver’s licence.
