Mine Site Technician (Moranbah)

About the role

The Mine Site Technician will join Bureau Veritas at the Moranbah coal mine, working on a 7‑day roster that alternates between day and night shifts. The role focuses on using specialised equipment to prepare coal samples, conduct laboratory testing, and simulate coal production processes to assess material properties.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain specialised sampling and testing equipment on the mine site.
• Perform manual handling tasks to collect, prepare, and label coal samples for laboratory analysis.
• Conduct laboratory tests to determine coal quality and properties.
• Simulate coal production processes to evaluate sample performance.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate records and report test results to relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling duties.
• Previous laboratory or sample preparation experience (preferred but not essential).
• Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Skills (preferred).
• Methodical, well‑organized approach to work.
• Ability to pass a CBM medical and possess mine‑site experience.
• Valid Queensland driver’s licence and own transport to the site.
• Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekend overtime.
• Reliable with good communication skills.
