Medical Practitioner – Remote Medicine in Broome

About the role

Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA as a Medical Practitioner delivering critical care in one of the most remote regions of Australia. This full‑time, residential position is based in Broome, the gateway to the Kimberley, and offers a diverse range of clinical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide critical care as part of interhospital and primary retrieval missions across remote Western Australia.
• Deliver remote telehealth consultations to isolated communities and individuals.
• Participate in ongoing education, clinical governance and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registration, or eligibility for registration, with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
• Minimum five years’ postgraduate experience, including emergency medicine, anaesthesia and acute paediatrics.
• Proven ability to manage critically ill and injured patients independently, with relevant procedural skills.
• Strong communication, teamwork and clinical judgement in complex and remote environments.

What we offer

• Base salary of $314,310 per year, with a total remuneration package up to $562,073.
• Free furnished housing and a vehicle, plus additional allowances.
