Media, Communications and Engagement Officer

About the role

A State Government organisation in Queensland, recruited through Karlka Recruiting Group, is looking for a Communications Officer based in Albion. The role covers media, communications and stakeholder engagement, including the creation of communication materials across a range of platforms. It is a contract to 27 January 2027 with a possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver internal and external communication materials for a range of audiences
• Research, write, review and edit media releases, media responses and stakeholder communications
• Develop content for digital channels including social media, websites and publications
• Manage communication and design projects from concept through to final production
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Required profile

• Experience in media, communications and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Required skills

• Strong writing, editing and communication skills
• Sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail
• Experience using digital communication platforms is highly regarded
