Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join the South Para workshop team to maintain and improve key water infrastructure. You will apply mechanical trade skills to support installations, repairs, testing, commissioning and fault finding across plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure infrastructure is safely maintained to high‑quality standards in line with reliability and maintenance practices.
• Execute internal and external maintenance programmes to optimise equipment uptime and improve efficiency.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors to provide schedule updates, cost estimates and scope variations.
• Collaborate with the Operations & Maintenance team to achieve team goals and solve technical problems.

Required profile

• Skilled mechanical tradesperson with a proactive safety and reliability focus.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety, environmental and water‑quality procedures.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Relevant Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience using computer‑based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of water quality, wastewater and environmental procedures.
