Mechanical Engineer – New Product Introduction (Contract, Perth)

About the role

This contract role supports the introduction of new products and mechanical systems from concept through to production hand‑over. Based on‑site in Perth, the Mechanical Engineer NPI will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable and compliant with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review mechanical components and assemblies for new product introductions.
• Support testing, validation and early‑life product support activities.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement and quality teams to address manufacturability and reliability.
• Document engineering changes and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical assistance during commissioning and early‑stage product deployment.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong foundation in applying engineering principles to new‑product and asset‑focused projects.
• Experience in R&D, prototyping, testing and data analysis.
• Project‑management capability to plan, coordinate and track NPI activities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively with on‑site and field teams.
