Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will join Chrysos’ Product Improvement team in Adelaide, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the PhotonAssay™ technology that delivers rapid, accurate ore analysis for the global mining industry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and track the engineering portion (PCE & ECO) of Product Change Orders, ensuring timelines, costs and performance targets are met.
• Identify performance, safety and reliability improvements for PhotonAssay™ systems worldwide.
• Participate in troubleshooting investigations of mechanical issues on existing installations.
• Design, validate and document experiments, test equipment, accelerated life‑testing rigs and data‑capture procedures.
• Perform maintenance and configuration updates on the Standalone Automation System to align with production standards.
• Create and validate work instructions and Bills of Materials for product changes.
• Engage with suppliers and major contractors to support engineering activities.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, supply‑chain, maintenance and deployment teams to implement changes and resolve faults.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in mechanical, mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering role.
• Proficiency with 3D parametric modelling software such as Onshape or Inventor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
