Mechanical Apprentice – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

About the role

Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking multiple new and experienced Mechanical Apprentices to join its UU MECS contract in Brisbane, Queensland. The apprentice carries out tasks supporting the mechanical program under the instruction of a qualified Mechanical Fitter. The position is permanent and full time, reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater infrastructure so assets perform well
• Carry out wastewater, water construction and maintenance tasks
• Take part in job and plant hazard identification and incident notifications
• Attend and take part in team and toolbox meetings
• Lead or help complete jobs using the mobile field computing system
• Install and augment major assets, plant and installations
• Ensure maintenance jobs comply with procedures and keep the workplace safe

Required profile

• Current driver's licence
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work professionally and courteously with subcontractors and clients

Required skills

• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)
