MD Year 2 Course Co-Convenor (Senior Lecturer)

About the role

The University of Queensland Medical School is seeking a Senior Lecturer to serve as Co‑Convenor for Year 2 of the Doctor of Medicine program. This part‑time, permanent position will shape curriculum design, coordination and delivery for a full‑year course, working closely with clinicians, educators and professional staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of Year 2 lectures, tutorials and workshops, ensuring alignment with program outcomes.
• Integrate curriculum across thematic areas and support guest lecturers using contemporary pedagogies and technologies.
• Advance medical education research through scholarship of teaching and learning, applying evidence‑based approaches to assessment and evaluation.
• Mentor academic and teaching staff, fostering capability in curriculum delivery and educational leadership.
• Participate in governance, committees and working groups, building partnerships across Learning Communities, Clinical Schools and the wider university.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner.
• Proven experience in curriculum development, assessment design and academic leadership in higher education.
• Collaborative, forward‑thinking educator committed to inclusive, student‑centred learning.
• Strong record of scholarly contribution to medical education.
