Marketing Data Engineer

About the role

A contract Marketing Data Engineer position in Sydney focuses on building automated data pipelines that feed marketing analytics, performance measurement and MMM readiness. The profile leans toward marketing analytics experience and exposure to Google Cloud Platform rather than deep engineering experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated data ingestion pipelines integrating Google marketing platforms, Meta platforms, other digital advertising systems and agency datasets and reports.
• Design scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and standardise data from disparate sources into a common data model, handling daily, weekly and monthly refreshes.
• Develop data quality rules and monitoring, and implement data transformation and enrichment processes.
• Support future analytics initiatives including marketing performance measurement and MMM readiness.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with banking industry.
• Marketing analytics experience; comfort with adopting AI tools (no expert level required).

Required skills

• Strong SQL and query optimisation; Python for data processing.
• API-based integrations and ETL/ELT orchestration.
• Cloud data platforms (BigQuery and Cloud Storage preferred).
• Data modelling and CI/CD and DevOps familiarity.
• Experience analysing Google Ads, GA4, Meta and DV360 (GA4 strongly preferred).
• Preferred: marketing data platform experience, customer analytics, marketing attribution and campaign reporting.
