Marine Technician - Diesel Engines

About the role

Mariner Engineering is a Volvo Penta and Yanmar dealership specialising in inboard diesel marine engines, with a 30-year history of a skilled technical team. It is looking for qualified technicians and 4th year apprentices to join its Spotswood team, which works on commercial vessels and pleasure craft in the 20-80ft range, mostly off-site at marinas. Candidates from interstate or New Zealand, or working holiday visa holders, are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot marine diesel engines and electrical systems
• Perform service and repair on engines, transmissions and running gear
• Keep professional service records and repair documentation
• Guide and mentor apprentices

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience as a marine technician, diesel mechanic or marine engineer
• Trade qualification as a marine technician, diesel mechanic or marine engineer; open to 4th year apprentices and above
• Current Australian driver's licence
