Managing Consultant - Planner (Impact Assessment)

About the role

ERM is seeking an experienced Managing Consultant - Planner (Impact Assessment) based in its Sydney or Newcastle office. The role provides project management and senior technical environmental planning and permitting advice for large-scale capital development projects, serving clients in power (renewables, transmission and distribution), infrastructure, government and defence, mining and manufacturing. It suits a senior professional who wants to advance their career with a global environmental leader.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and/or manage environmental assessments and the preparation of environmental impact statements, including managing related approvals for capital projects such as SSD / SSI projects
• Project manage multiple projects within agreed scope, budget and schedule, delivering quality results
• Prepare technical proposals, including technical scopes and cost estimates, and take part in business development with existing clients and identified leads
• Maintain client relationships to support repeat business
• Mentor junior staff in environmental planning and approvals
• Build collaborative relationships with colleagues and network with ERM's global Impact Assessment technical team

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum 6 years of environmental planning and impact assessment work under NSW and Commonwealth legislation
• Experience in environmental planning and approvals, land use planning, post approval management and impact assessment best practices across the listed sectors
• Solid experience building long-term relationships with major clients
• Authorisation to work in Australia
