Manager - Water Infrastructure, Sydney

About the role

SMEC is looking for a high-performing water professional to take the next step into a leadership position managing the Sydney business as Manager - Water Infrastructure. The role involves taking ownership of the business and driving growth areas within Water Infrastructure, with the chance to work on projects locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, win and deliver water infrastructure projects
• Contribute to team growth through targeted client relationship management and business development, including industry profiling, sourcing new clients and repeat work from existing ones
• Manage the commercial performance of the team
• Lead the team so that performance, resourcing, retention and professional development are optimal
• Provide input to projects at a project management and/or review level to ensure timely and quality delivery

Required profile

• Chartered Professional Engineer
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering
• 10+ years of professional industry experience in Water Infrastructure
• Experience delivering technical projects in a consultancy environment, in both design and project management capacities

Required skills

• Management and business development skills
• Ability to prepare successful proposals with the correct scope and budget
• Ability to submit technical reports to a high standard requiring minimal correction and to provide final review of reports
