Manager - ESG Assurance

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager to join its ESG Assurance team in Sydney. You will lead assurance engagements for sustainability disclosures, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s climate and sustainability services.

Key responsibilities

• Project‑manage ESG assurance engagements from planning through delivery, including risk assessment, testing, and reporting.
• Apply technical knowledge of international and Australian sustainability frameworks to design assurance approaches.
• Develop performance measurement baselines, milestones, and resource plans for projects.
• Provide high‑quality analysis of ESG data and benchmark organisational performance.

Required profile

• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in managing projects end‑to‑end and delivering quality outcomes.
• Ability to work independently and think strategically while ensuring detailed execution.

Required skills

• Emissions assurance audit experience.
• Knowledge of Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), ISSB, GRI, SDGs, UNPRI, TCFD, GRESB, SASB, NGER, ERF, CDP.
• Practical application of International/Australian Auditing Standards (ISAE, ASAE).
• Strong analytical skills for ESG data measurement and benchmarking.
