Senior Environmental Specialist

About the role

Egis Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to join its Sydney office. You will help grow the Environmental Management and Approvals discipline, supporting client projects across green‑field and brown‑field developments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare environmental impact assessments, approvals and compliance deliverables for a range of clients and industries.
• Support quality project outcomes, ensuring they stay on budget and schedule.
• Develop project proposals that deliver innovative, practical and sustainable solutions.
• Participate in client management, business development and occasional site travel.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in environmental consulting, industry or government.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering or Science.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and NSW environmental legislation, with at least 2 years’ experience in NSW law.
• Proven ability to conduct on‑site inspections, audits and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Environmental impact assessment and risk analysis.
• Development and monitoring of environmental management plans.
• Interpretation and application of environmental data, reports and technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentations.
