Manager Collection Services

About the role

The Manager, Collection Services leads the library team to provide equitable, streamlined access to learning resources, focusing on prescribed materials that support student success. This role reports to the Director, Resources and Discovery and aligns library services with the strategic plan 2025-2029.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Collections Services team to deliver timely access to prescribed and other learning resources.
• Oversee interlibrary loans, resource sharing, unit readings, accessibility services, open educational resources, and procurement.
• Develop standards, documentation, and procedures for consistent, scalable service delivery.
• Partner with academic and professional stakeholders to understand needs and improve experiences.
• Drive continuous improvement using data, KPIs, and service standards, reporting risks and recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with copyright, licensing, privacy, WHS and EEO requirements.
• Manage vendor and licence relationships to ensure value and continuity.

Required profile

• Degree in information management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Significant leadership experience with high‑performing, innovative teams.
• Extensive experience designing workflows and continuous improvement in library services.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Required skills

• Experience with integrated library management systems such as Alma.
• Familiarity with specialist tools like Leganto, Rapido, RapidILL.
• Knowledge of copyright, licensing and intellectual property in library contexts.
