Management Accountant – Renewable Energy Finance

About the role

Based in Nipaluna (Hobart), you will support accurate financial reporting, budgeting and performance analysis for Hydro Tasmania, Australia’s largest renewable energy generator. Working closely with finance and operational teams, you will turn data into insights that drive the state’s clean energy future.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly management reports and conduct financial analysis.
• Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting cycles.
• Provide practical financial advice to business stakeholders.
• Analyse financial data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Improve finance processes, reporting tools and system usage.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Experience in an accounting firm or operational finance role.
• Strong financial analysis and problem‑solving capability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to explain financial concepts to non‑financial teams.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset with experience in process optimisation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (including PivotTables and financial modelling).
