Management Accountant / Business Partner

About the role

Assurant Reverse Logistics, part of Assurant's post-purchase and circular economy business across Australia and New Zealand, is looking for an experienced Management Accountant/Business Partner for its Finance team. This is a 10-month fixed-term, hands-on role combining management accounting, commercial analysis and stakeholder partnering, supporting operations across Australia and New Zealand. It suits someone who enjoys the detail, investigates variances and partners with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month-end activities including journals, accruals, reconciliations and supporting workpapers
• Prepare monthly financial results, customer and brand reporting, performance commentary and variance analysis
• Manage project revenue estimates, accruals, revenue recognition and customer invoicing
• Support budgeting and forecasting, including analysis of workforce costs and other business expenses
• Monitor receivables and support resolution of overdue invoices and customer queries
• Partner with internal teams and external retail stakeholders, translating financial information into practical insights
• Support financial activities across Australia and New Zealand operations and coordinate with shared-services teams across locations and time zones
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• Management accounting experience across month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Experience preparing journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance commentary
• Understanding of revenue recognition, invoicing and receivables
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards the qualification
• Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and SUMIFS
• NetSuite
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and deadline management
