Maintenance Technician – Reliability & Engineering

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join its Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at the Heathwood site in Brisbane. You will keep the fulfilment centre running safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling, automated packaging and distribution equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of site equipment.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, communicate with affected teams and restore equipment operation.
• Support continuous improvement by reporting breakdown analysis and suggesting long‑term solutions.
• Maintain high equipment availability for internal customers.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and assist with general building maintenance.

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical licence, or Certificate III in Engineering, or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner), or equivalent Australian‑recognised qualification.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems and fault finding on material handling or automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, motor controllers and inverters.
• Commitment to health and safety standards and regulations.
