Maintenance Technician – Equipment Inspector

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to act as an Equipment Inspector within our HME Planning Team at Bengalla Mining. Based in Muswellbrook, this permanent full‑time role follows a dayshift lifestyle roster and reports to the Senior Maintenance Planner.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on heavy mobile equipment, review open defects and condition monitoring results, and generate new work requests.
• Collaborate with HME planners to assist in work order planning, providing detailed instructions, parts, services and equipment requirements.
• Review work packages, complete risk assessments and carry out maintenance inspections in line with site procedures.
• Document completed work, update component tracking, forecast changes and identify cost‑saving initiatives.
• Requisition necessary parts and services to support maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Plant Mechanic or HV Electrician.
• Valid Australian Diver’s Licence.
• Experience maintaining mobile plant such as Hitachi EH5000/EH4000 trucks, Komatsu 930e/830e trucks, CAT D11 dozers, CAT 16/24 graders, CAT 777 water carts, CAT 773/775 lube trucks and CAT 994K loaders.
• High Risk Work Licences (e.g., FL, WP, CN, DG, CS).
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) and familiarity with a maintenance management system, preferably Pulse.
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
