Maintenance Technician – Automated Warehouse

About the role

Join Dematic, a global leader in automation and material handling, as a Maintenance Technician at a new large‑scale automated warehouse in Tarneit, Melbourne. You will support the installation, commissioning and ongoing operation of cutting‑edge storage and retrieval systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on conveyors, robotics, AS/RS, and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, equipment audits and lubrication tasks.
• Program drives, scanners and electronic control modules; troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs.
• Replace contactors, relays, bearings, chains, belts and gearboxes as needed.
• Investigate root causes of breakdowns and propose reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance and fault troubleshooting.
• Unrestricted Victorian A‑Grade Electrical Licence or Mechanical Fitter qualification.
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).
• Own transport and a valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Mechanical maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• PLC programming (Siemens S7) and SCADA basics.
• VFD and HMI configuration.
• Use of computerized maintenance systems (MEX).
• Microsoft Office for reporting.
