Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

JBS Australia is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Mechanical Fitters and Electricians at its Dinmore Processing Plant, near Ipswich, Queensland. The supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and leads day-to-day operations of critical production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role balances hands-on leadership with coaching and development of tradespeople and apprentices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team so that planned and reactive maintenance is carried out safely, effectively and with minimal disruption to production
• Coordinate breakdown response and fault-finding activities
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and drive initiatives that improve equipment reliability, performance and asset longevity
• Work with Production and other site stakeholders to minimise downtime and align maintenance resources to business needs
• Coach and develop tradespeople and apprentices, support improvement projects and ensure maintenance complies with food safety, quality and site compliance standards

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical or a related discipline
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, food processing, meat processing or heavy industry
• Proven ability to lead teams in a large-scale production environment
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Commitment to safety, accountability and continuous improvement
• Ability to build positive working relationships across departments
