Maintenance Handyperson - Home and Community Care

About the role

Uniting Communities is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Maintenance Handyperson to join its Home and Community Care team in Port Augusta. The role provides home maintenance and gardening services that help older people and community members stay safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes. It suits someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in supporting others.

Key responsibilities

• Gardening and general yard maintenance
• Window and gutter cleaning
• Minor carpentry and fencing repairs
• Removing minor green waste
• Minor tree pruning and low-level garden tidy-ups
• Providing friendly, respectful and professional customer service

Required profile

• Reliable, self-motivated and enjoys helping people
• Strong safety focus and able to work independently
• Working at Heights certification (or the ability to obtain it)
• Current driver's licence and a registered, insured and roadworthy vehicle
• Previous maintenance, gardening, handyman or trade experience is advantageous but not essential
