Maintenance Fitter

About the role

Bega Group is looking for a Maintenance Fitter for its Penrith site in Greater Western Sydney, which manufactures more than 50 milk-based products and produces around 170 million litres per year. The role supports the performance, reliability and efficiency of production equipment and is a hands-on position contributing to safe operations, product quality and site performance. It is initially a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with the possibility of moving to a permanent full-time position depending on business needs and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment reliable and safe
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability programs
• Support new equipment installations and give technical input during commissioning
• Ensure all work meets engineering, safety and food quality standards

Required profile

• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification (essential)
• Experience in FMCG or manufacturing, ideally with dairy processing or packaging equipment
• Flexible to work a rotating roster: 12-hour day shifts (5:00AM-5:00PM) and 10-hour night shifts (5:00PM-3:00AM), Monday to Sunday
• Understanding of asset care and maintenance systems focused on reliability and consistency
• Collaborative, team-focused with clear communication
