Maintenance Electrician (Level 2A)

About the role

JBS Australia's Southern Division, based in Melbourne, operates the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia, handling beef, sheep and goats. It is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to support its processing plants, which serve major international markets. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to food production that is both efficient and sustainable.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix complex electrical, control and automation faults in PLC and automation systems on time.
• Keep assets such as high-speed processing and packaging machinery available, reliable and capable.
• Monitor, follow up and resolve issues related to planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
• Improve equipment and systems to boost safety and throughput.

Required profile

• An electrical trade qualification and experience in industrial maintenance and repair, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting (food or FMCG experience is highly regarded).
• Experience maintaining heavy industrial machinery, conveyors and complex processing systems.
• Understanding of work planning and scheduling, and of maintenance work management practices.
• A passion for sustainability and openness to innovation.

Required skills

• PLC fault diagnosis (Allen Bradley / Siemens)
• VSD and HMI troubleshooting
