Loss Prevention Lead

About the role

Amer Sports, a global sporting goods and outdoor performance group home to brands such as Wilson, Salomon and Arc'teryx, is recruiting a Loss Prevention Lead for its Moorabbin, Melbourne office. The role owns stock control, cycle counting and loss prevention processes across retail stores and e-commerce, partnering with the Warehouse Manager, Retail Back Office, Store Managers and Heads of Retail to protect the integrity of retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end inventory management, including stock takes, inventory accuracy and availability, and proactive resolution of discrepancies
• Maintain a zero-discrepancy standard through disciplined stock control and support audit requests, including year-end audits
• Identify shrinkage risks (process, theft, supplier, system), recommend controls and help stores follow stock-handling procedures
• Work with the Warehouse Manager to maintain stock integrity
• Lead incident management: coordinate investigations, root causes, corrective actions and prevention of recurrence
• Run regular store audits and train store teams on best loss prevention practice
• Oversee physical security controls for stores and warehouses, including vendor performance
• Analyse store transaction data to spot trends, exceptions, fraud indicators and process weaknesses

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in loss prevention, stock control, inventory management or shrinkage management across multiple stores or locations
• Multi-brand or omnichannel retail experience; finance or accounting exposure (e.g. shrinkage provisions)
• Ability to handle physical demands: manual handling, time on feet, travel to stores and warehouse, and occasional out-of-hours stocktakes (more than 60% of time in the field, with about 25-30% interstate and New Zealand travel)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to find root causes of variances

• Barcode or RFID counting
• Working knowledge of an inventory or ERP system and Excel
• Clear communication across Finance, warehouse, e-commerce and store teams
