Local Sourcing Specialist

About the role

Air Liquide Australia is looking for a Local Sourcing Specialist to drive and support key procurement initiatives such as strategic sourcing, spend analysis, contracting, supplier relationship management and procurement risk management. The role acts as the main procurement representative to the business, helping achieve procurement and business objectives and keeping the business informed of progress.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing: run the full sourcing process with business stakeholders, develop sourcing plans, carry out supplier surveys and market research, qualify suppliers, run RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and lead negotiations
• Manage contract establishment using the right templates, with Legal support when needed, and close out contracts and claims properly
• Purchasing: use the purchasing system efficiently, promote and set up purchasing catalogues to automate transactions, handle manual purchases when required and resolve supplier payment issues with the regional business service centre
• Supplier relationship management: manage ongoing contracts, collect and analyse supplier performance data, hold supplier meetings, support supplier integration and change management, and support cost and value analysis for supplier improvement

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical, numerical or supply chain field such as engineering, finance or supply chain management
• Professional certification in procurement and/or supply chain management is desirable
• Strong problem-solving ability and significant relationship management and listening skills
• Business-minded, results-driven, able to explain ideas clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
• Comfortable working at a system level while handling detailed tasks
