Local / Metro HC & MC Truck Driver - Day and Afternoon Shifts

About the role

SCT Logistics, Australia's largest privately owned rail and freight logistics company, is looking for reliable full-time HC and MC truck drivers for day and afternoon shifts delivering general freight across metropolitan Adelaide to its customers. The base is the Penfield depot, where every shift starts and ends. Day shift runs 6.00 am to 2.30 pm, afternoon shift 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm, and optional weekend and public holiday overtime is available.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver SCT trailers and containers safely and efficiently to metropolitan distribution centres
• Manage yard movements, positioning containers and trailers carefully
• Complete vehicle inspections and keep accurate logs, run sheets and proof-of-delivery records
• Check freight for damage and quantity discrepancies
• Secure loads and meet Chain of Responsibility, NHVR, load restraint and safety requirements
• Follow SCT and customer site rules and use fleet management systems such as MTData

Required profile

• Current HC or MC licence, fatigue management certification and at least two years' metropolitan commercial driving experience
• Ability to reverse, hitch and unhitch trailers at container docks safely
• Physically able to pull curtains and secure loads
• Positive, organised approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Eligible for a pre-employment commercial driver medical and a National Police Clearance
