Local Host - Punthill Tuggeranong

About the role

Punthill Tuggeranong is the first Punthill hotel in Greater Canberra, with 76 self-contained apartments (Studio to Three Bedroom) and on-site conference space, gym, pantry and lobby fireplace. As a Local Host reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will help establish the hotel's presence in Canberra, working closely with the Super Host and Hotel Manager to understand and delight corporate guests. The job is permanent and part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high level of guest service at every touchpoint, from check-in and check-out to during the stay
• Solve complaints and problems creatively
• Act as a true host and local expert, giving guests advice and recommendations on points of interest
• Handle emergencies safely and professionally
• Explore ways to increase returning and new guests
• Help the Hotel Manager keep the hotel running to Veri-Best standards

Required profile

• Adaptable, enjoys variety and has an ownership mindset
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work as a team and independently
• Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays on rotation (no overnight shifts)
• Approved Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or visa with approved working rights)
• First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain it before starting)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (or ability to obtain it before starting)
