Local Host - Punthill South Yarra

About the role

Punthill South Yarra is an apartment-style hotel in Melbourne's South Yarra, offering guests a stylish stay close to dining, shopping and entertainment, with easy access to the CBD and city attractions. As a Local Host reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will be part of a small team and play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences while showing guests the best of the local area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high level of guest service at every touchpoint, from check-in and check-out to during the stay
• Solve complaints and problems creatively
• Act as a true host and local connection, giving guests advice and recommendations on points of interest
• Handle emergencies safely and professionally
• Look for ways to increase the number of returning and new guests
• Support the Hotel Manager in keeping the hotel to Veri-Best standards

Required profile

• Adaptable, enjoys variety and works with an ownership mindset
• Experience in a customer service role
• Ability to work both as a team member and independently
• Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays on rotation with others (no overnight shifts required)
• Approved Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or visa with approved working rights)
• First Aid Certificate (or able to obtain it before starting)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or able to obtain it before starting)
