Livestock Accounts Assistant

About the role

JBS Australia's Southern Division, headquartered in Melbourne, operates the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia, handling beef, sheep and goats, with access to major international markets. It is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Livestock Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team at its Longford facility, with the chance to build a long-term career with a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process administrative tasks in the Livestock Accounts department accurately and efficiently
• Enter accounts payable data, including coding and processing approved invoices for livestock, freight and plant expenses
• Reconcile vendor statements and manage related enquiries
• Help with month-end reporting, including livestock and vendor accruals
• Complete filing and general administrative duties on time
• Liaise with internal stakeholders across departments
• Handle incoming calls and respond to email enquiries
• Provide general administrative support and data entry as required

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, ideally in a livestock or similar environment
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational, time management and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail with large volumes of data
